Celebrating America

It's almost the 4th and we've got red, white, and blue on our minds. Celebrating the patriotic holidays is an American tradition. Summer starts with Memorial Day, ends with Labor Day, and features the firework bursting Fourth of July as its centerpiece. And let’s not forget the often over looked Flag Day! It's the season to let your flags fly, it’s warm weather and barbecues ushering in some good old-fashioned American celebrating. We love our country and we love our service men and women who have sacrificed their lives for our freedom. The fact is, the colors of our nation’s flag have a natural positive effect on our disposition, which makes interior decorating in red, white, and blue a perfect design choice. These three colors bring pride, nostalgia, and warmth to any space.

Like flowers, the colors of the American flag are symbolic. The red stripes in the flag symbolize courage, while red flowers symbolize bravery and passion. The rich colors of our red cone flowers and poppies really accentuate the spirit of the day.

White signifies purity and innocence on the flag. Using white also creates a refreshing and clean look in your home. It can give the feeling of purity and serenity. When used correctly, white gives the illusion the room is much higher and larger. But beware, too much white can result in a room that appears, well, boring.

Blue stands for vigilance, perseverance and justice on the flag and exudes peace and calm. Blue is extremely versatile and can be used in all styles of decor. It can create an excellent atmosphere for work, productivity or meditation. As you can see, they all have their unique emotional benefits and give us a good reason to keep celebrating all summer. We are headed for market next month to search for new and wonderful gifts and home decor for you! And we can't wait to show off our some of our Christmas collections we will have displayed at our Annual Christmas in July Open House on the 26, 27, & 28th of next month!

Sincerely, Mike and Amber
