We finished decoration another shelf recently. If you struggle with decorating shelves, try starting in the middle and working your way out. I started with the pottery and sticks in the middle corner of the shelf. I have always loved the artwork with the little bird perched on the stick. Once I figured out where to put that piece, I just filled in around it. The metal candlesticks are also great for elevating and making different heights.
