Spring Break at the Lake

As I contemplate spring and new beginnings, like many of you, I am so ready to spring forward. You know what I mean, I love that smell of warmer weather and the feeling in the air that we all experience. The energy shifts towards excitement and expectation that things are about to change. Well, I'm ready for that. After all the fun and craziness of our Spring Open House, we decided that Spring Break was the perfect opportunity to take a drive down to Table Rock Lake. We planned to enjoy the week with my in laws, Mike and Linda Hinton, who now live there full time. It is one of our very most favorite places, so we go any chance we get. We didn’t spend time on the boat, not this trip. We just had easy, relaxing time with family. I am really not trying to brag when I say that I have the best in-laws a girl could ask for, but seriously, it's true! I love spending time with them. My husband, Mike, comes by his humor honestly, so you can bet big Mike keeps us in stitches and the laughter rolling. Many of you know Linda and that she was the founder and creator of Petals & Potpourri (with much support from her husband) over 40 years ago. Linda is always so gracious and welcoming. She is a wealth of knowledge about so many things and I love our long conversations about being a wife, mother, business owner, and just life in general. Needless to say, I love them both and I love the lake, so putting them all together puts some pep in my spirit! Linda has a flair for decorating that creates an extraordinary atmosphere and sets the stage to tell a story. Her style is simple, yet interesting, and always includes something unexpected. She uses nature and natural elements throughout and I LOVE the way she incorporates twigs and sticks. It makes me feel like a wild child, living in the woods! It also causes me to think outside the decorator box, which is what her style is all about- uniqueness. It is well thought out while keeping it simple, relaxed and down to earth. You will see a good measure of color and patterns, florals stems, and upcycled furniture pieces. Isn't it amazing what a few coats of paint can do? Of course, turquoise, and yellow! I love decorating with yellow in the spring and summer. It reminds me of sunshine! I am super-duper excited to share this stunning home with you, as I know so many of our long-term customers love Linda and all the beautiful things she creates. I hope you enjoy the lake house tour!

Sincerely, The Hintons
